{Gratitude} Lately

Every day I look around in amazement at all the
beautiful, yet simple, things that I'm so thankful for.
 Lately I've been grateful for...
the last jar of canned tomatoes and the tomato season that’s almost here
fresh cut peonies on a butcher's block in the solarium
a friend that’s willing to cut open a can of baked beans when the can opener is packed
glow in the dark wands
 the new CSA season
 and
the splendor of “country fireworks”

HOME Sweet Homestead

(This post was written a couple of weeks ago and just published today.)

Well, we’re settling into our home sweet homestead in the country. The house and property need A LOT of work, but things are beginning to feel like home. Here’s a glimpse at some of the progress and the new and inspiring things we’ve found so far…
the makings of a school room

a grate that might just have a new home inside
birdhouses a plenty
four friendly neighbor horses
wildflowers in our pastures
the “jungle” part of our property

and a mantle decorated with an old window found in the barn

Moving Weekend

With the help of friends and family, we are successfully moved into our new home. We did a whole lot of moving, a little bit of exploring, and a whole lot of celebrating. It was one very memorable weekend!

(We are currently without internet. Posts may seem sporadic for a while.)
